GENERAL OPINION: In my opinion, all the journals that I have checked are interesting, because they raise the translation topic with differents points of view and opinions, and as a consequence, the readers can contrast some investigations, projects and how translation studies are considered on a country or on another one.
Marina Rodríguez Sánchez: For me, the most relevant and useful one is Renditions, because the central issue, the Chinese culture, is a very broad and interesting one. It is an historical evolution and actually, it is the base for most of the Asiatic literature. I think that the journal is quite complete: it offers many information from some different points of view and each edition has a main matter and gives the possibility of learn about translation from a new opinion. Moreover, the website is easy to understand and it is also quick to find what you are searching, because titles are clear and they serve as a guide. Also, you can download its catallogue, where you can find its paperback, about, for example, women writers or classical literature, and its books, about history or classical poetry, for example.
Sandra Blanco Márquez: From my point of view, the most interesting one is La linterna del traductor: Revista de traducción because of different reasons: it not only shows translations, but it also comments them. In addition, it offers advice for translators, such as tricks to be more effective when working as a translator at home, which I think is very useful.
Silvia Poveda Pérez: The one I enjoyed the most was the second journal because I see it as more useful and with better and more varied contents than can serve both students and professionals. It publishes more than 60 international reviews, which represent some editorial groups from, for instance, Germany and Poland. Many of these journals are related to the area of Sciences, so this could be very useful for both students and specialists. Furthermore, its services are on-line, so it is available on an easy and quick way for the people who is interested in.
inTRAlinea: Rivista di traduttologia: This online translation journal, which comes from the Department of Interdisciplinary Studies in Translation, Languages and Culture of the University of Bologna, has 13 annual volumes published. One of the most relevant ones is the 2006 publication Respeaking, that talks about the procedings of the first international seminar on rreal time intralingual subtitling. Journal of Specialised Translation: This journal contains an amount of articles, related all to translation in one way or another (devices, skills, implications...) Journal of Translation: This journal, which is published twice a year, is composed by articles, book reviews and short notes, that deal explicitly with the topic of translation, both theory and practice. Renditions: A Journal on Chinese Literature and Culture: Since 1973, this journal is the leading international one of Chinese literature in English translation and it represents 2000 years of poetry, prose and fiction. Some Chinese and translation studies are frequently included and it is edited by the University of Hong Kong. La linterna del traductor: Revista de traducción. This is a Spanish magazine operated by ASETRAD (the Spanish translators’ association) that has published nine numbers from March 2002 to August 2004. The magazine has as its main objective helping translators with its content, as it talks about techniques to translate, new useful technologies, personal experiences in translating… This magazine does not include many translations, as it is more interested in commenting what is happening in the world of translating. http://traduccion.rediris.es/
Machine Translator. This magazine deals with those branches of computational linguistics and language engineering with a multilingual aspect. It has published 25 volumes since 1986 and they are divided in two groups: “archival content” and “contemporary content”. Meta: journal des traducteurs. Here we are the magazine of l’Université de Montréal, l’Université Laval and l’Université du Québec. It was created by Presses de l’Université de Montréal in 1998.
